Happy Leap Year! This week students will be learning about the differences between left brained and right brained thinking. They will also choose a topic of interest and will be "masters" teaching "apprentices" in class. We are also grateful to have Mr. Spear visit our classroom and answer questions about life in college. Students will also continue to work on their research papers.
This week students will be working on continuing with their research papers. Most students are finished with their thesis statements and are now gathering evidence. Students are also working on creating an ideal city based on one of Leonardo's drawings. What would your ideal city look like?
MAP PRACTICE TESTING NEXT WEEK: 7th and 8th grade students will come to me at 10:00 after they have finished on Monday. 6th and additional 7th graders will come to me at 10:33 on Tuesday. Enjoy your week! This week is a busy one! Students will be participating in a debate based on a moral dilemma that stems from the Renaissance Era. Students will also create comics using ACT vocabulary. They will also gather evidence for their research papers after analyzing an example.
College Tip of the Week: Consider taking some classes through a community college to save money. The A+ Program is a great opportunity. Reminder: I will be at ESMS from 1:00-3:00 for conferences. Please feel free to stop by! This week students are continuing to work on their research papers. They are learning about choosing the best sources and how to store that information for later use.
Students also enjoyed debating a moral dilemma based on da Vinci: Should everyone be a vegan? They also created skits in small groups using ACT vocabulary words. |
