Students have been hard at work on their utopia projects. They have been planning and writing about their ideal city. This engaging activity has students discussing topics like government and education. I am excited to see what each student produces.
Students have also completed a nearpod lesson based on the earthquake and fires in San Francisco over 100 years ago. The lesson began with mystery photographs and a video clip taken from that time period in San Francisco. Students were able to make inferences based on the photographs, video, websites and printed text. They learned about the relationships between white Americans and the Chinese at the time. This engaging activity was about putting together pieces of a puzzle to tell a complete story!
Younger BI students also received mail after writing to the Amelia Earhart Museum. Students wrote to the museum about their theories as to what really happened to Amelia Earhart. They each received a packet and I received a nice souvenir book to share with students. The museum is also displaying their letters. Wow!
